ATTENTION! New Valedictorian/Salutatorian Requirements

Beginning with the Class of 2026 at Garden Plain High School, graduating seniors will have weighted classes factor into the Valedictorian/Salutatorian calculation. These classes will be weighted at both AHS & GPHS:

Math

College Algebra

Calculus

Trigonometry

Science

College Biology

College Chemistry

Valedictorian and Salutatorian will be determined by the student with the top cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) which will include all weighted and unweighted classes.  If a tie exists, the overall percentages in those classes will be used to break ties.  If a tie still exists, there will be two or more students that fill the role of Valedictorian and/or Salutatorian.
